Museumsinsel, Berlin (Museum Island)

I)n 1822, Karl Friedrich Schinkel was commissioned to construct the first royal museum, the ‘Königliches Museum’, which, being the oldest, is known today as the Altes Museum and is situated at Lustgarten opposite the site of the former royal residence, the Berlin Palace.
